Our kokkotu Story
Hello and welcome! Our names are Rach and Josh and we are the founders of kokkotu. We are a small family business based in Auckland, New Zealand.
We have two young boys and they have provided the inspiration and motivation to produce our kokkotu range. They love to explore, move, create and like most children, their imaginations are limitless. Our shirts have been designed to enhance these wonderous imaginations, to inspire new adventures, to generate wonderful childhood memories and quite simply - provide happiness and fun!
Our shirts are made from organic cotton which is natural and safe for our children, our farmers and our environment. Sustainability is at the core of our business. Our people and our planet are incredibly valuable so it's important to us that our garments are sustainably and ethically made and distributed.
Family is the foundation of our small business. The inspiration from our boys, the ongoing support from our loved ones and even the meaning behind our name. It may seem like we got creative with the spelling of cockatoo but no, we have a better story than that. kokkotu was inspired from our family Finnish name of Kokko. Our Kokko family now reside throughout the world but we all share a strong sense of Finnish pride and "sisu" (you should look that up).
If you have purchased a kokkotu shirt we would love to see it in action and learn about your kokkotu adventures - be sure to tag us on Instagram and facebook @kokkotukids.
Thank you for stopping by, we appreciate your time and your support. Please reach out if you have any questions or feedback at kokkotukids@gmail.com.
